You don't pay. There's no fee.

The survey figure

According to CareScout's 2025 Cost of Care Survey (PDF 282102), the New Jersey median monthly cost for assisted living was $8,710. The national assisted living median in that survey was $6,200. Your parent's quote from any community can be higher or lower based on location, apartment type, and care level. We do not invent a price for any named community.

What changes the quote

  • Town and building. Bergen County rents are not Morris County rents.
  • Apartment type. Studio, one bedroom, or shared.
  • Care level. Most communities price care in tiers on top of rent.
  • Extras. Incontinence supplies, medication administration, transportation, and second person fees.
  • Community fee at move in, which is usually one time.

What we will not do

We will not invent a price for a named community, and we will not publish nursing home figures on this page. We ask each community with you and write down what they say.
