Fort Lee families are usually comparing two states

Fort Lee sits at the bridge, so the search often starts in Manhattan or Queens and ends in Bergen County. Adult children want a place a parent recognises, close enough for a weeknight visit, with the calmer pace of the Gold Coast.

We help you compare honestly across the line instead of pretending one side always wins.

Towns families tour alongside Fort Lee

Edgewater, Cliffside Park, Englewood, Leonia, and Palisades Park come up constantly, with Paramus and Hackensack a short drive west. We describe the pattern, not inventory. We do not claim a community in any of these towns has space, and we do not publish counts or prices.

What the official list does and does not show

We shortlist from the New Jersey Department of Health licensed facility file so you can check a licence yourself.

One honest catch: a secured dementia unit inside a larger assisted living residence often does not appear as its own memory care line in that file. So the official memory care count for any town reads lower than what families may find when they visit. We explain that on the call.

Sit with us first. Then pick the home.

  • Sit with the family. Care type, county or borough, budget band in your own words, and urgency. No invented numbers from us.
  • Shortlist licensed private-pay options that fit what you told us.
  • You get the written shortlist. You visit when ready, and we can come along if you ask.
  • Follow through after your visits. Move in is between your family and the community.

Immediate need or planning ahead

Immediate need means a hospital or rehab discharge this week, wandering, night safety worries, or a caregiver at the end of the rope. Call (201) 686-8232.

Planning ahead means the next 30 to 90 days. Use the form and mark Planning ahead, and we work at a calmer pace.

Language

Spanish, Korean, and Chinese speaking families are welcome. Call or send the form and tell us which language works best for your parent, and we will plan the conversation around that.

What to ask on a memory care tour

  • Night staffing in the memory care neighborhood. Who is awake, how many, and what happens at 3 a.m.
  • Wandering and exit protocol. How doors, elevators, and outdoor space are handled.
  • Activities built for dementia, not a general activity calendar.
  • How medications are handled, and who administers them.
  • What the base monthly fee does not cover. Care levels, incontinence supplies, transportation.
  • How the team communicates with family after a fall, a refusal, or a hard night.
  • What happens if care needs change, and when a move to another setting is required.

Traveling in for tours

Family flying in for a tour or a move in weekend can ask us about nearby stays. A quiet convenience, nothing more.

Communities and agencies

If you run admissions, business development, or a licensed home care office, we would like to know your setup. Call (201) 686-8232 or use the partner page. We do not publish your rates and we do not promise census.

Request a shortlist

Please do not type Social Security numbers, Medicare numbers, bank details, or medication lists.

What does your parent need help with? Check all that apply.
We never pass your details to a community or partner without asking you first and naming who receives them. We only contact you the way you choose. You don't pay. There's no fee.

How we handle your information

Frequently asked questions

Do families pay you?
You don't pay. There's no fee. A community may pay us a professional referral fee after a successful private-pay move in. We do not take a fee on Medicaid or Medicare funded placements.
Should we look in New Jersey or in New York?
Both, at first. Tour one on each side of the bridge and the difference in feel, staffing, and price becomes obvious quickly.
Why do so few Fort Lee memory care communities show on official lists?
Because a secured unit inside an assisted living residence usually carries the assisted living licence, not a separate dementia line. We explain what that means for your shortlist.
