New York memory care
Memory Care in Queens County, NY
The official New York file lists 2 dementia care addresses in Queens County, plus assisted living residences that may run a secured unit the state does not list separately.
We sit with you first, then you pick the home. We shortlist licensed communities from the official state lists. We are a family resource, not a hospital and not a brokerage.
Why the official memory care count looks small
State files list a dementia care license only when the whole address carries it. A secured wing inside a larger assisted living residence often does not get its own line, so the honest count on paper is lower than what families find on tours.
Every New York name we show comes from the New York State Department of Health Adult Care Facility Directory, so you can check the certificate yourself.
What to ask a secured unit
Ask what training the overnight staff has, how the community handles wandering and exit seeking, what happens when needs increase, and which care level charges apply. Ask for the answer in writing before a deposit.
CareScout does not publish a memory care median, so any monthly figure you see online is someone's estimate. Ask the community.
Queens County: what the official New York list shows
The New York license file lists 25 senior care settings in Queens County: 2 assisted living settings, 2 memory or dementia care settings and 21 personal care homes. They are spread across 12 towns.
The towns with the most licensed listings are Far Rockaway (6), Flushing (4), Forest Hills (3), Belle Harbor (2), Kew Gardens (2), Rockaway Park (2).
For memory care, start with the dementia care listings, then ask the larger assisted living residences whether they run a secured memory floor. The state file does not always list those floors separately.
